Apps for Practicing MIndfulness & Meditation
 

  • Insight Timer - A free meditation app with over 150,000 guided meditations, music tracks, and live events. Features teachers from around the world.

  • Calm -  Calm offers a wide range of sleep stories, breathing exercises, music, and guided mindfulness sessions.

  • ​Headspace - A cheerful, user-friendly app that offers guided meditations, animations, and short practices for stress, sleep, focus, and emotions. Great for beginners.

Educational Resources for Teachers and Administrators
 

  • The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL)
    While not mindfulness-specific, CASEL provides SEL frameworks that often incorporate mindfulness as part of self-awareness and self-regulation development. Great resource for aligning mindfulness with broader educational goals. 

  • ​Greater Good Education – UC Berkeley
    The Greater Good Science Center’s education portal featuring lessons, practices, and strategies to promote well-being and mindfulness in schools.  Offers free, research-informed practices for students, staff, and administrators.

  • The Calm Schools Initiative
    A free program from the Calm app that gives educators access to Calm’s full library of mindfulness and meditation content for classroom use.  Includes breathing exercises, brain breaks, and age-appropriate meditations.
